The Responsibilities tab lets you configure document responsibilities and their mapped columns in this interface. A checkbox is available to set the state to either retain responsibilities or not when updating, copying or revising documents.

1. If retain value is turned on, update the document links based on the Excel column value with the following behavior:
   • Blank – do nothing
   • Has data – the responsibility is added with the given organization / person with the given responsibility type
   • Not mapped – do nothing.
2. If retain value is turned off, first remove all the document responsibilities and then for those mapped responsibilities, based on the Excel column value execute the following behavior:
   • Blank – do nothing
   • Has data – add the responsibility to the given organization / person with the given responsibility type
   • If only Organization is provided – this organization responsibility is added
   • If Organization and Person are provided, then the person responsibility is added
   • If only Person is provided, the system checks for the contact of the person's member of the Organization, and uses this to add person responsibility. If no contact is available, it uses the first member of Organization to add person responsibility. If the person is Bulk Transfer Configuration Tool Bulk Transfer Utility D004024 rev 1.0 aug 2011 page 18 not a member of any organizations, the responsibility is not added and reported in error log file.
   • If the data entered is invalid, it is written into the log file.
